Mixtape Tuesday

The anticipation of a new album and the throws of insomnia produced the following: a quick mix of the majority of Nas' work post-Street's Disciple and leading up to Hip-Hop Is Dead. It's not an expert job and was done using freeware, but it's worth a download, I'd like to think.

Why "Last Rites"? And did you really have to include his verse off of Blindfold Me?

Tray, "Last Rites" because it ties into the title of "Hip-Hop Is Dead", and lol @ Blindfold Me. I actually maintain that Nas' verse is good. The song is ass, but I like the verse. Plus, I got to put a little edit on the "Hugh Grant" line, which is something I've been wanting to do for a while.

Max, I used audacity, which has been my best friend for years now. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

"the majority" . . . not everything.

Honeymoon Is Over is actually My Will from 2002, so it wouldn't fit, and I thought about including the first verse from Don't Body Yaself but decided against it.

Yeah, I contemplated that one too, but I already had raided the Living Legends mixtape enough. Also, while it was a new track in the sense that it first came out last year, I'm not sure how recent Nas' vocals might have been.

One person the fans have heard reconnect with Nas is Lauryn Hill. Hill sings the hook on Nas' mixtape track "It Wasn't You." But no, the two didn't hook up for a follow-up to "If I Ruled the World." The song is actually the piece-work production of DJ Dirty Harry, who married Hill and Nas' vocals. In fact, Nas said he heard the song for the first time when it was released on a mixtape. "I just gave him vocals," Nas said. "You know what, it's all good. That's definitely a nice bullet to put in the arsenal of what's to come." ...

I don't know... the sense that I always get from Nas's sex raps is that he's a little perverted. I always find myself cringing whenever he gets on that topic.

The You Gunna Luv Me remix entry.

And that's Where Y'All At mixed with the opening of Minnie Ripperton's Rainy Day In Centerville, which it samples.
